もみじの カエデちゃんと ほしの アサヒくんの ゆらゆら よるKaede the Maple Leaf and Asahi the Star's Swaying Night

静しずかな 秋あきの 夜よるが やってきました。A quiet autumn night arrived.

お空そらには、きらきら お星ほしさまが たくさん 輝かがやいています。きらり きらり。きらり きらり。まるで 宝石ほうせきみたいだね。In the sky, many twinkling stars were shining brightly. Twinkle, twinkle. Twinkle, twinkle. They looked just like jewels.

大おおきな もみじの 木きの 上うえに、小ちいさな 葉っぱはっぱが いました。On top of a big maple tree, there was a small leaf.

もみじの カエデちゃんです。It was Kaede the Maple Leaf.

カエデちゃんは、真っ赤まっかな 色いろの きれいな 葉っぱはっぱ。お日ひさまの 光ひかりを いっぱい 浴あびて、こんなに きれいな 色いろに なったんだよ。Kaede was a beautiful leaf with a bright red color. She had soaked up lots of sunshine, and that's how she became such a pretty color.

カエデちゃんは、枝えだの 上うえで ゆらゆら 揺ゆれています。ゆらり ゆらり。ゆらり ゆらり。気持きもちが いいね。Kaede was swaying gently on the branch. Sway, sway. Sway, sway. It felt so nice.

その時とき、お空そらから やさしい 声こえが 聞きこえました。Just then, a gentle voice came from the sky.

「カエデちゃん、こんばんは」"Good evening, Kaede."

誰だれだろう。カエデちゃんは お空そらを 見上みあげました。Who could it be? Kaede looked up at the sky.

きらきら 光ひかりる 星ほしが、にっこり 笑わらっています。A twinkling star was smiling warmly.

星ほしの アサヒくんです。It was Asahi the Star.

アサヒくんは、金色きんいろに 輝かがやく 小ちいさな 星ほし。夜よるの お空そらで、一番いちばん やさしく 光ひかりっているよ。Asahi was a small star that shone with a golden light. In the night sky, he was the one who shone most gently.

「アサヒくん、こんばんは。今日きょうも きれいに 光ひかりっているね」"Good evening, Asahi. You're shining so beautifully tonight too."

カエデちゃんが 言いいました。Kaede said.

「ありがとう。カエデちゃんも、きれいな 赤色あかいろだね。もうすぐ 旅たびに 出でるの？」"Thank you. You have such a pretty red color too, Kaede. Are you going on your journey soon?"

アサヒくんが たずねました。Asahi asked.

そうなんです。秋あきになると、もみじの 葉っぱはっぱたちは、風かぜに 乗のって 旅たびに 出でかけるのです。That's right. When autumn comes, maple leaves ride the wind and go on a journey.

「うん、もうすぐだよ。でも、ちょっぴり どきどき するの」"Yes, it's almost time. But I'm feeling a little nervous."

カエデちゃんは、少すこし 声こえが 小ちいさくなりました。Kaede's voice became a little quieter.

風かぜの ワカくんです。It was Waka the Wind.

ワカくんは、とても やさしい 秋あきの 風かぜ。葉っぱはっぱたちを、そっと そっと 運はこんでくれるんだよ。Waka was a very gentle autumn wind. He would carry the leaves ever so softly.

カエデちゃんの 声こえが、少すこし 明あかるくなりました。Kaede's voice became a little brighter.

「うん、本当ほんとうだよ。一緒いっしょに 夜よるの 空そらを 飛とぼうよ」"Yes, really. Let's fly through the night sky together."

ワカくんが 言いいました。Waka said.

カエデちゃんは、枝えだから そっと 離はなれました。ふわり。Kaede gently let go of the branch. Flutter.

ワカくんの 風かぜに 乗のって、カエデちゃんは 空そらを 飛とびます。ふわふわ ふわふわ。ゆらゆら ゆらゆら。Riding on Waka's wind, Kaede flew through the sky. Floating, floating. Swaying, swaying.

なんて 気持きもちが いいんだろう。How wonderful it felt.

お空そらには、ほかの もみじの 葉っぱはっぱたちも 飛とんでいました。赤い 葉っぱはっぱ。黄色きいろい 葉っぱはっぱ。オレンジ色いろの 葉っぱはっぱ。みんな ゆらゆら 踊おどっています。In the sky, other maple leaves were flying too. Red leaves. Yellow leaves. Orange leaves. Everyone was dancing and swaying.

まるで 夜よるの お空そらの ダンスパーティーだね。It was like a dance party in the night sky.

アサヒくんが、きらきら 光ひかりって みんなを 照てらしています。きらり きらり。きらり きらり。葉っぱはっぱたちが、きらきら 輝かがやいて 見みえるよ。Asahi was shining brightly, lighting up everyone. Twinkle, twinkle. Twinkle, twinkle. The leaves looked like they were sparkling.

「きれいだね」"It's so beautiful."

カエデちゃんが 言いいました。Kaede said.

「うん、とっても きれいだよ」"Yes, it's very beautiful."

アサヒくんも、うれしそうに 言いいました。Asahi said happily too.

ワカくんは、葉っぱはっぱたちを やさしく 運はこびます。ふうわり ふうわり。ゆっくり ゆっくり。急いそがなくて いいんだよ。Waka carried the leaves gently. Float, float. Slowly, slowly. There was no need to hurry.

カエデちゃんは、お空そらを 飛とびながら、下したを 見みました。森もりの 木きたちが、小ちいさく 見みえます。川かわの 水みずが、お月つきさまの 光ひかりで きらきら 光ひかりっています。Kaede looked down while flying through the sky. The trees in the forest looked so small. The river water was sparkling in the moonlight.

「下したの 世界せかいも きれいだね」"The world below is beautiful too."

カエデちゃんが 言いいました。Kaede said.

しばらく 飛とんでいると、カエデちゃんは 少すこし 疲つかれてきました。After flying for a while, Kaede started to feel a little tired.

「そろそろ 休やすもうか」"Shall we rest now?"

ワカくんが 言いいました。Waka said.

カエデちゃんを 乗のせた 風かぜは、ゆっくり ゆっくり 降おりていきます。ふわり ふわり。そっと そっと。The wind carrying Kaede slowly, slowly descended. Float, float. Softly, softly.

森もりの 中の、ふかふかの 落ち葉おちばの 上うえに、カエデちゃんは やさしく 降おりました。ふわり。In the forest, on a fluffy bed of fallen leaves, Kaede landed gently. Flutter.

周まわりには、ほかの 葉っぱはっぱたちも 一緒いっしょに 降おりてきました。みんな 並ならんで、ふかふかの ベッドの できあがり。All around, other leaves had come down together too. Everyone lined up, making a fluffy bed.

カエデちゃんが 言いいました。Kaede said.

落ち葉おちばの ベッドは、ふかふか ふかふか。とっても あったかくて、気持きもちが いいね。The bed of fallen leaves was so fluffy and soft. It was so warm and comfortable.

お空そらから、アサヒくんが やさしく 見守みまもっています。きらり きらり。きらり きらり。まるで 子守唄こもりうたみたいだね。From the sky, Asahi was watching over them gently. Twinkle, twinkle. Twinkle, twinkle. It was like a lullaby.

カエデちゃんの まぶたが、だんだん 重おもくなってきました。とろーん とろーん。Kaede's eyelids were getting heavier and heavier. Droopy, droopy.

周まわりの 葉っぱはっぱたちも、みんな うとうと しています。All the leaves around were getting sleepy too.

「おやすみ、カエデちゃん」"Good night, Kaede."

アサヒくんが 言いいました。Asahi said.

「おやすみ、みんな」"Good night, everyone."

ワカくんも 言いいました。Waka said too.

カエデちゃんは、にっこり 笑わらいました。Kaede smiled warmly.

「おやすみ、アサヒくん。おやすみ、ワカくん。素敵すてきな 旅たびを ありがとう」"Good night, Asahi. Good night, Waka. Thank you for the wonderful journey."

ふかふかの 落ち葉おちばの ベッドで、カエデちゃんは ゆっくり 目めを 閉とじました。On the fluffy bed of fallen leaves, Kaede slowly closed her eyes.

お星ほしさまが きらきら。風かぜが さわさわ。やさしい やさしい 秋あきの 夜よる。Stars were twinkling. Wind was rustling. Such a gentle, gentle autumn night.
