もぐらの ホロくんと じめんの おんがくHoro the Mole's Underground Music

夜よるになると、庭にわのすみっこが静かしずかになります。When night comes, the corner of the garden grows quiet.

地面じめんの下したから、こんな音おとが聞きこえてきます。From under the ground, a sound comes up like this.

ほりほりほり。ほりほりほり。Dig dig dig. Dig dig dig.

もぐらのホロくんが、穴あなを掘ほっています。Horo the Mole is digging a hole.

隣となりには、みみずのつぶさんが住すんでいます。「ホロくん、今日きょうも元気げんきだね」つぶさんが言いいました。Next door lives Tsubu the Earthworm. "Are you doing well today, Horo?" said Tsubu.

ほりほりほり。とんとんとん。Dig dig dig. Tap tap tap.

土つちの中なかは、あたたかくて、静かしずかです。Inside the earth, it is warm and quiet.

ホロくんは、だんだんまぶたが重おもくなってきました。Horo's eyelids slowly began to feel heavy.

土つちの音おとが、子守歌こもりうたに聞きこえます。The sound of the earth sounds like a lullaby.

ほりほりほり。とんとんとん。すうすうすう。Dig dig dig. Tap tap tap. Shh shh shh.

ホロくんは、深ふかい穴あなの奥おくで、ぐっすり眠ねむりました。Deep inside his hole, Horo fell fast asleep.

お星さまも、空そらでまぶたを閉とじています。The stars, too, are closing their eyes up in the sky.
