ほたるのヒナタくんとまいごのリボンHinata the Firefly and the Lost Ribbon

森もりの中なかに、うさぎのスズちゃんが住すんでいました。スズちゃんは、お母かあさんからもらったピンク色いろのリボンをとても大切たいせつにしていました。In the middle of the forest, there lived a little rabbit named Suzu. Suzu treasured the pink ribbon that her mother had given her very much.

ある日ひの夕方ゆうがた、スズちゃんはお友ともだちとおにごっこをして遊あそんでいました。森もりの中なかをぴょんぴょん飛とんで、木きの周まわりをぐるぐる回まわって、とっても楽たのしい時間じかんを過すごしました。One evening, Suzu was playing tag with her friends. She hopped through the forest, ran around the trees, and had a wonderful time.

でも、お家うちに帰かえってきたスズちゃんは、はっと気きがつきました。「あれ、私わたしのリボンがない」。耳みみに結むすんでいたはずのリボンが、どこにも見みあたりません。But when Suzu came home, she suddenly noticed something. "Oh no, my ribbon is gone." The ribbon that should have been tied to her ear was nowhere to be found.

スズちゃんはとても悲かなしくなりました。あのリボンは、スズちゃんの誕生日たんじょうびにお母かあさんがプレゼントしてくれた、世界せかいで一ひとつだけの宝物たからものだったのです。Suzu felt very sad. That ribbon was a birthday present from her mother, her one and only treasure in the whole world.

「どこで落おとしたんだろう」スズちゃんは涙なみだをこらえながら考かんがえました。でも、日ひはもう沈しずんで、空そらは暗くらくなっていきます。暗くらい森もりの中なかを一ひと人ひとりで歩あるくのは、怖こわいなと思おもいました。"Where did I drop it?" Suzu wondered while holding back her tears. But the sun had already set, and the sky was getting dark. She thought it would be scary to walk alone in the dark forest.

その時、ふわりと一ひとつの光ひかりが近ちかづいてきました。「どうしたの、スズちゃん。何なにか困こまっているの」。優やさしい声こえで尋たずねたのは、ほたるのヒナタくんでした。Just then, a soft light floated toward her. "What's wrong, Suzu? Are you having trouble?" The gentle voice belonged to Hinata the firefly.

スズちゃんは事情じじょうを説明せつめいしました。「お母かあさんにもらったリボンを落おとしちゃったの。でも、もう暗くらくなっちゃったから、探さがしに行いけなくて」。Suzu explained what happened. "I lost the ribbon my mother gave me. But it's already dark, so I can't go look for it."

ヒナタくんはお腹なかの光ひかりをぴかっと光ひかりらせました。「大丈夫だいじょうぶ。僕ぼくが照てらしてあげるよ。一緒いっしょに探さがしに行いこう」。Hinata made the light on his belly shine brightly. "Don't worry. I'll light the way for you. Let's go look for it together."

二人ふたりは森もりの中なかへと歩あるき出でしました。ヒナタくんが前まえを飛とんで、道みちを明あかるく照てらしてくれます。スズちゃんはその光ひかりを頼たよりに、ゆっくり歩あるいていきました。The two of them set off into the forest. Hinata flew ahead, lighting up the path. Suzu followed slowly, guided by his light.

「ここで遊あそんでいたの」。大おおきな樫かしの木きの下したに着つきました。ヒナタくんが木きの周まわりをぐるりと照てらします。でも、リボンは見みつかりません。"Is this where you were playing?" They arrived under a big oak tree. Hinata flew around the tree, lighting it up. But the ribbon was not there.

「次つぎはどこで遊あそんだ」とヒナタくんが尋たずねました。「えっと、あの池いけの近ちかくでかくれんぼをしたの」。二人ふたりは池いけの方ほうへ向むかいました。"Where did you play next?" Hinata asked. "Um, we played hide and seek near that pond." The two headed toward the pond.

池いけの水みずがヒナタくんの光ひかりでキラキラと輝かがやいています。「きれいだね」とスズちゃんが思おもわずつぶやきました。「うん、夜よるの森もりもすてきでしょう」とヒナタくんが答こたえました。The pond water sparkled in Hinata's light. "It's beautiful," Suzu said without thinking. "Yes, the forest at night is lovely too," Hinata replied.

池いけの周まわりを探さがしましたが、やっぱりリボンはありません。スズちゃんは少すこし元気げんきをなくしてしまいました。「見みつからないかもしれない」。They searched around the pond, but the ribbon still wasn't there. Suzu began to lose hope. "Maybe I won't find it."

ヒナタくんは優やさしく言いいました。「まだあきらめちゃだめだよ。最後さいごまで探さがしてみよう。他ほかに行いった場所ばしょはある」。Hinata said kindly, "Don't give up yet. Let's search until the very end. Is there anywhere else you went?"

スズちゃんは思おもい出でしました。「最後さいごに、大おおきな岩いわの上うえで休やすんだの。疲つかれちゃって、少すこし寝ねころんじゃった」。Suzu remembered. "Finally, I rested on a big rock. I was tired and lay down for a little while."

二人ふたりは急いそいで岩いわのところへ向むかいました。ヒナタくんが岩いわの上うえを照てらすと、そこにピンク色いろのリボンがありました。The two hurried to the rock. When Hinata lit up the top of the rock, there was the pink ribbon.

「あった」スズちゃんの声こえが森もりに響ひびきました。リボンは岩いわの上うえでスズちゃんを待まっていたのです。"I found it!" Suzu's voice echoed through the forest. The ribbon had been waiting for Suzu on top of the rock.

スズちゃんはリボンをぎゅっと抱だきしめました。「ヒナタくん、ありがとう。君きみがいなかったら、見みつけられなかった」。Suzu hugged the ribbon tightly. "Thank you, Hinata. I couldn't have found it without you."

ヒナタくんはうれしそうに光ひかりりました。「よかったね。困こまった時はお互たがいさまだよ。僕ぼくも前まえに、羽はねを痛いためた時、君きみのお母かあさんに助たすけてもらったことがあるんだ」。Hinata glowed happily. "I'm so glad. We help each other when we're in trouble. Your mother helped me once before when I hurt my wing."

「そうだったの。知しらなかった」。スズちゃんはうれしい気き持もちでいっぱいになりました。優やさしさはつながっていくんだな、と思おもいました。"Really? I didn't know that." Suzu felt her heart fill with happiness. She thought about how kindness connects us all.

ヒナタくんはスズちゃんをお家うちまで送おくっていきました。途中とちゅう、たくさんのほたるの仲間なかまたちがやってきて、森もりの道みちはまるで星空ほしぞらのように輝かがやきました。Hinata walked Suzu home. Along the way, many of his firefly friends joined them, and the forest path sparkled like a starry sky.

お家うちに着つくと、お母かあさんが待まっていました。「お帰かえり、スズ。リボン、見みつかったのね」。スズちゃんはリボンを見みせて、今夜こんやの冒険ぼうけんを話はなしました。When they arrived home, her mother was waiting. "Welcome back, Suzu. You found your ribbon." Suzu showed her the ribbon and told her about tonight's adventure.

お母かあさんはスズちゃんをぎゅっと抱だきしめました。「よかったわね。それに、すてきなお友ともだちがいて幸しあわせね」。Her mother hugged Suzu tightly. "I'm so happy for you. And how lucky you are to have such a wonderful friend."

スズちゃんは窓まどの外そとを見みました。ヒナタくんが小ちいさな光ひかりで手てを振ふっています。「また、遊あそぼうね」。スズちゃんも手てを振ふり返しました。Suzu looked out the window. Hinata was waving with his little light. "Let's play again soon." Suzu waved back.

ベッドに入はいると、スズちゃんはリボンを枕まくらの横よこに置おきました。「今日きょうは、たくさんの優やさしさに出で会あえた日ひだったね」。When she got into bed, Suzu placed the ribbon next to her pillow. "Today was a day when I found so much kindness."

スズちゃんは目めを閉とじました。夜よるの森もりのきれいな光ひかりと、ヒナタくんの優やさしい声こえを思おもい出でしながら、少すこしずつ眠ねむりに落おちていきました。Suzu closed her eyes. Remembering the beautiful lights of the night forest and Hinata's gentle voice, she slowly drifted off to sleep.

窓まどの外そとでは、ほたるたちが静しずかに光ひかりっています。まるでスズちゃんの夢ゆめを守まもるように、優やさしく優やさしく光ひかりり続つづけていました。Outside the window, the fireflies glowed quietly. They kept shining gently, gently, as if protecting Suzu's dreams.
