こぎつねのレンとひかるはっぱRen the Little Fox and the Glowing Leaf

森もりの奥おくに、こぎつねのレンが住すんでいました。レンはとっても優やさしいこぎつねでしたが、少すこしだけ恥はずかしがりやでした。Deep in the forest, there lived a little fox named Ren. Ren was a very kind little fox, but he was just a little bit shy.

ある秋あきの夕方ゆうがた、レンは森もりを散歩さんぽしていました。すると、黄色きいろや赤あかに染そまった葉はっぱが、きらきらと光ひかっているのを見みつけました。One autumn evening, Ren was taking a walk through the forest. Then he found some yellow and red leaves that were sparkling and glowing.

「わあ、きれいだなあ。こんなにきらきらした葉はっぱ、初はじめて見みた」"Wow, how beautiful. I have never seen such sparkly leaves before."

レンがそっと葉はっぱに触さわると、葉はっぱはもっと明あかるく光ひかりました。レンは嬉うれしくなって、その葉はっぱを大切たいせつに持もち帰かえることにしました。When Ren gently touched the leaf, it glowed even brighter. Ren felt so happy that he decided to carefully bring it home.

帰り道かえりみち、レンは困こまっている小鳥ことりを見みつけました。小鳥ことりのモエちゃんです。モエちゃんは翼つばさを押おさえて、悲かなしそうにしていました。On his way back, Ren found a little bird in trouble. It was Moe the little bird. Moe was holding her wing and looking very sad.

「どうしたの、モエちゃん」"What is wrong, Moe?"

「翼つばさが痛いたくて、飛とべないの。お家うちに帰かえれなくて、困こまっているの」"My wing hurts and I cannot fly. I cannot get home and I do not know what to do."

モエちゃんの声こえは、今いまにも泣なきそうでした。レンは少すこし考かんがえてから、勇気ゆうきを出だして言いいました。Moe's voice sounded like she was about to cry. Ren thought for a moment, then gathered his courage and said.

「ぼくがお家うちまで送ってあげるよ」"I will take you home."

モエちゃんの目めがぱっと明あかるくなりました。Moe's eyes suddenly brightened.

「本当ほんとうに」"Really?"

「うん、本当ほんとうだよ。ぼく、森もりの道みちなら全部ぜんぶ知しっているから」"Yes, really. I know all the paths in this forest."

レンはモエちゃんをそっと背中せなかに乗のせて、歩あるき始めました。森もりの道みちは長ながくて、少すこし暗くらいところもありました。Ren gently let Moe climb onto his back, and started walking. The forest path was long, and some parts were a little dark.

でも、レンが持もっている光ひかる葉はっぱが、道みちを優やさしく照てらしてくれました。But the glowing leaf that Ren was carrying lit up the path gently.

「この葉はっぱ、すごくあったかいね」"This leaf feels so warm."

モエちゃんが不思議ふしぎそうに言いいました。Moe said with wonder.

「うん、今日きょう見みつけたんだ。きれいでしょう」"Yes, I found it today. Is it not beautiful?"

「とってもきれい。まるで小さなお星ほしさまみたい」"It is so beautiful. It looks just like a tiny little star."

ふたりはお話はなをしながら、どんどん歩あるいていきました。レンはモエちゃんと話はなすのが楽たのしくて、恥はずかしい気持きもちが少すこしずつ消きえていきました。The two of them walked on and on while talking together. Ren was having so much fun talking with Moe that his shyness slowly melted away.

やがて、大おおきな樫かしの木きが見みえてきました。それがモエちゃんのお家うちでした。Soon, a big oak tree came into view. That was Moe's home.

「着ついたよ、モエちゃん」"We are here, Moe."

「ありがとう、レンくん。とってもとってもうれしいよ」"Thank you so much, Ren. I am so very happy."

モエちゃんはレンにお辞儀じぎをしました。レンは照てれくさそうに笑わらいました。Moe bowed to Ren. Ren smiled shyly.

「ねえ、レンくん。明日あしたもいっしょに遊あそべる」"Hey, Ren. Can we play together tomorrow?"

「うん、遊あそぼうよ」"Yes, let us play together."

レンの心こころがぽかぽかとあたたかくなりました。友達ともだちができたのです。Ren's heart felt warm and cozy. He had made a friend.

その夜よる、レンは光ひかる葉はっぱを枕元まくらもとに置おいて眠ねむりました。葉はっぱは優やさしく光ひかり続つづけて、レンの夢ゆめをあたたかく包つつみました。That night, Ren placed the glowing leaf by his pillow and fell asleep. The leaf kept glowing softly, wrapping Ren's dreams in warmth.

夢ゆめの中なかで、レンとモエちゃんはいっしょに空そらを飛とんでいました。きらきらの星ほしたちに囲かこまれて、ふたりはにこにこ笑わらっていました。In his dream, Ren and Moe were flying together through the sky. Surrounded by sparkling stars, the two of them were smiling happily.

優やさしい気持きもちは、光ひかる葉はっぱみたいにまわりを明あかるく照てらすんだね。A kind heart shines bright, just like a glowing leaf, lighting up everything around it.

レンもモエちゃんも、幸しあわせな気持きもちでぐっすり眠ねむりました。Both Ren and Moe fell fast asleep, feeling happy and content.
