はりねずみの ヒロと かみなりの よるHiro the Hedgehog and the Thunder Night

森もりの中なかに、はりねずみのヒロが すんでいます。In the forest lived a little hedgehog named Hiro.

ある夜よる、遠とおくで ごろごろという 音おとが 聞きこえました。空そらが 光ひかって、また 大おおきな 音おとが します。One night, Hiro heard a rumbling sound in the distance. The sky flashed, and then came another big boom.

ヒロは 体からだを 丸まるめて、ふるえていました。「こわいな」ヒロは 小ちいさな 声こえで つぶやきました。Hiro curled up into a ball, trembling. "I'm scared," Hiro whispered in a tiny voice.

そこへ、うさぎの ノンが やってきました。「ヒロ、だいじょうぶ？」ノンは ヒロの そばに すわりました。Just then, Non the rabbit came along. "Hiro, are you okay?" Non sat down close beside him.

「いっしょに いてくれる？」ヒロが 聞きくと、ノンは うなずきました。にひきは よりそって、かみなりの 音おとを 聞きいていました。"Will you stay with me?" Hiro asked, and Non nodded. The two of them snuggled together, listening to the thunder.

しばらくすると、音おとは だんだん 小ちいさくなり、やがて しずかな 夜よるが もどってきました。ヒロは ほっとして、体からだの 力ちからを ぬきました。After a while, the sound grew softer and softer, until a quiet night returned. Hiro felt relieved and let his body relax.

「ノン、ありがとう」ヒロが 言いうと、ノンは やさしく わらいました。にひきは なかよく よりそったまま、ねむりに つきました。"Thank you, Non," said Hiro, and Non smiled gently. Snuggled close together, the two friends drifted off to sleep.
