フェニックスのレイくんと ほしのまいごさがしRay the Phoenix and the Search for the Lost Star

昔むかし むかし、夜空よぞらの 向むこうに、小ちいさな フェニックスの レイくんが 住すんでいました。Once upon a time, beyond the night sky, there lived a little phoenix named Ray.

レイくんの 羽はねは、夕焼ゆうやけみたいな だいだい色いろを していました。まだ 子こどもの レイくんは、大おおきな 空そらを 飛とぶのが 苦手にがてでした。Ray's wings were a beautiful orange color, just like the sunset. Ray was still young, and he wasn't very good at flying through the big sky.

「ぼく、もっと 上手じょうずに 飛とべるように なりたいな」"I wish I could fly better," he thought.

ある 夜よるのこと、レイくんは 空そらを 見上みあげていました。お星ほしさまが きらきらと 輝かがやいています。One night, Ray was looking up at the sky. The stars were twinkling brightly.

「お星ほしさまは、どうして あんなに きれいに 光ひかれるんだろう」"I wonder why the stars can shine so beautifully?"

レイくんが そう 思おもった そのとき、小ちいさな 光ひかの 粒つぶが、レイくんの 前まえに ふわりと 降おりてきました。Just as Ray was thinking this, a tiny speck of light floated gently down in front of him.

光ひかの 中なかから、ようせいの 女おんなの子こが 現あらわれました。星ほしの 形かたちの 帽子ぼうしを かぶっています。From within the light, a fairy girl appeared. She was wearing a star-shaped hat.

「こんばんは、レイくん。わたしは 星ほしのようせいの マナ。今日きょうは お願ねがいが あって 来きたの」"Good evening, Ray. I am Mana, the star fairy. I came because I have a favor to ask."

「お願ねがい？」"A favor?"

「じつは、小ちいさな 星ほしの子こが 迷子まいごに なってしまったの。夜よるの 空そらを 照てらす お仕事しごとが 始はじまる 前まえに 見みつけないと、暗くらい 夜よるが 続つづいて しまうわ」"You see, a little star child has gotten lost. If we don't find them before their job of lighting up the night sky begins, the dark night will continue."

マナちゃんは 困こまった 顔かおを しています。レイくんは 少すこし 考かんがえました。Mana looked worried. Ray thought for a moment.

「ぼくは まだ 飛とぶのが 下手へたくそだけど、手伝てつだっても いい？」"I'm still not very good at flying, but can I help?"

「もちろん。レイくんの 羽はねの ほのおが、きっと 役やくに 立たつわ」"Of course. Your wing flames will surely be useful."

マナちゃんが 魔法まほうの 粉こなを ふりかけると、レイくんの 体からだが ふわりと 浮うかびました。ふたりは 夜空よぞらへ 飛とび立たちました。When Mana sprinkled her magic powder, Ray's body floated gently into the air. The two of them flew off into the night sky.

空そらの 上は、静しずかで 広ひろい 世界せかいでした。遠とおくに 雲くもの 海うみが 広ひろがっています。Above the clouds was a quiet, vast world. In the distance, a sea of clouds spread out before them.

「星ほしの子こは、どこに いるんだろう」"I wonder where the star child could be?"

レイくんが あたりを 見み回まわすと、暗くらい 雲くもの 中なかから、小ちいさな 声こえが 聞きこえました。As Ray looked around, he heard a small voice coming from inside a dark cloud.

「だれか、助たすけて」"Someone, please help me."

レイくんは 勇気ゆうきを 出だして、雲くもの 中なかへ 入はいっていきました。雲くもの中なかは 暗くらくて、前まえが よく 見みえません。Ray gathered his courage and flew into the cloud. Inside the cloud, it was dark and hard to see ahead.

そのとき、レイくんは 思おもい出だしました。自分じぶんの 羽はねの ほのおのことを。Then Ray remembered. He remembered the flames on his wings.

レイくんが 羽はねを 広ひろげると、だいだい色いろの 温あたたかい 光ひかが 雲くもの 中なかを 照てらしました。When Ray spread his wings, a warm orange light illuminated the inside of the cloud.

光ひかの 向むこうに、小ちいさな 星ほしの子こが うずくまっていました。体からだの 光ひかが 弱々よわよわしく またたいています。Beyond the light, a little star child was curled up. Their body's light was flickering weakly.

「見みつけた。大丈夫だいじょうぶ、一緒いっしょに 帰かえろう」"I found you. It's okay, let's go home together."

レイくんは 優やさしく 声こえを かけました。星ほしの子こは レイくんの 温あたたかい 光ひかに つつまれて、少すこしずつ 元気げんきを 取とり戻もどしました。Ray called out gently. Wrapped in Ray's warm light, the star child slowly began to feel better.

「ありがとう、温あたたかいね」"Thank you, it's so warm."

星ほしの子こは うれしそうに またたきました。みっつの 光ひかが 一緒いっしょに 夜空よぞらを 進すすんでいきます。The star child twinkled happily. The three lights traveled through the night sky together.

しばらく 飛とんでいくと、たくさんの お星ほしさまが 待まっている 場所ばしょに 着つきました。星ほしの子こは 仲間なかまたちの ところへ 帰かえっていきました。After flying for a while, they arrived at a place where many stars were waiting. The star child returned to their friends.

「レイくん、本当ほんとうに ありがとう」"Ray, thank you so much."

マナちゃんが にっこり 笑わらいました。Mana smiled brightly.

「きみの 羽はねの ほのおは、とても 温あたたかくて、優やさしい 光ひかだね。空そらを 上手じょうずに 飛とべなくても、きみには すてきな 力ちからが あるんだよ」"Your wing flames are so warm and gentle. Even if you can't fly very well, you have a wonderful power."

レイくんは うれしくなりました。自分じぶんの ほのおが、だれかの 役やくに 立たてたこと。暗くらい 場所ばしょを 明あかるく 照てらせたこと。Ray felt happy. His flames had helped someone. He had lit up a dark place.

「ぼく、この ほのおを 大切たいせつに するね」"I will treasure these flames," he said.

お星ほしさまたちが、レイくんの まわりで きらきらと またたきました。まるで ありがとうと 言いって いるみたいでした。The stars around Ray twinkled brightly. It was as if they were saying thank you.

マナちゃんが もう一度いちど 魔法まほうの 粉こなを ふりかけると、レイくんは ゆっくりと 家いえへ 帰かえっていきました。When Mana sprinkled her magic powder once more, Ray slowly flew back home.

温あたたかい ベッドに もぐりこんだ レイくん。窓まどの 外そとには、いつもより きらきら 光ひかる 夜空よぞらが 広ひろがっていました。Ray snuggled into his warm bed. Outside his window, the night sky was sparkling brighter than ever.

「今日きょうは いい 一日いちにち だったな。星ほしの子こも 元気げんきになって よかった」"Today was a good day. I'm glad the star child is feeling better."

レイくんの 羽はねが、優やさしい だいだい色いろに またたきました。Ray's wings glowed a gentle orange.

空そらでは、星ほしの子こも マナちゃんも、レイくんの 夢ゆめを 見守みまもって くれています。Up in the sky, the star child and Mana are watching over Ray's dreams.

明日あしたも きっと、すてきな 一日いちにちに なるよ。Tomorrow will surely be another wonderful day.
