ほしのレイとくものコウのゆめのぼうけんThe Dream Adventure of Rei the Star and Kou the Cloud

夜よるの空そらに、小ちいさな星ほしがひとつ、きらきらと光ひかっていました。その星ほしの名前なまえは、レイといいます。レイは、毎晩まいばん、空そらから地上ちじょうを眺ながめるのが大好だいすきでした。In the night sky, a little star was twinkling brightly. The star's name was Rei. Every night, Rei loved to look down at the world below from up in the sky.

ある夜よる、レイはとても不思議ふしぎな夢ゆめを見みました。夢ゆめの中なかで、レイはふわふわと空そらから落おちていきます。「あれ、どこに行いくんだろう」レイは不思議ふしぎに思おもいました。One night, Rei had a very strange dream. In the dream, Rei was floating gently down from the sky. "Oh, where am I going?" Rei wondered.

気きがつくと、レイは白しろい雲くもの上うえにいました。そこには、優やさしい目めをした雲くもがいました。「こんばんは。ぼくはコウ。きみは、どこから来きたの」雲くものコウがたずねました。When Rei woke up, there was a soft white cloud beneath. On the cloud sat another cloud with kind eyes. "Good evening. I'm Kou. Where did you come from?" asked Kou the Cloud.

「わたしは、星ほしのレイです。空そらのずっとずっと上うえから来きました。でも、帰かえり方かたがわからないの」レイは少すこし困こまった顔かおで言いいました。"I'm Rei, a star. I came from way, way up in the sky. But I don't know how to get back home," said Rei with a worried look.

コウは、にっこりと笑わらいました。「大丈夫だいじょうぶ。ぼくがお家うちまで送おくってあげるよ。夢ゆめの世界せかいには、不思議ふしぎな道みちがあるんだ」Kou smiled warmly. "Don't worry. I'll take you home. In the dream world, there are magical paths."

ふたりは、雲くもの上うえを歩あるき始はじめました。しばらくすると、きらきら光ひかる花畑はなばたけが見みえてきました。花はなは紫むらさきや青あおやピンク色いろに光ひかっていて、とてもきれいでした。The two started walking across the clouds. Soon, they saw a field of flowers that sparkled with light. The flowers glowed in purple, blue, and pink, and they were very beautiful.

「わあ、きれいだなあ」レイが思おもわず声こえをあげると、花はなたちが一斉いっせいに歌うたい始はじめました。その歌うたは、とても穏おだやかで、心こころが温あたたかくなるようなメロディーでした。"Wow, how beautiful," Rei said softly, and the flowers all began to sing together. Their song was so peaceful and made their hearts feel warm.

花畑はなばたけを抜ぬけると、今度こんどは大おおきな虹にじの橋はしがあらわれました。虹にじは、赤あかや黄色きいろや緑みどりに輝かがやいていて、空そらの高たかいところまで続つづいていました。After passing through the flower field, a great rainbow bridge appeared before them. The rainbow shone in red, yellow, and green, stretching high up into the sky.

「あの橋はしを渡わたれば、お家うちに帰かえれるよ」コウが言いいました。レイはうれしくなりましたが、少すこし寂さびしくもなりました。"If you cross that bridge, you can go home," said Kou. Rei felt happy, but also a little sad.

「コウ、一緒いっしょに来きてくれてありがとう。わたし、ひとりだったら怖こわかったと思おもう」レイが言いうと、コウは優やさしく答こたえました。"Kou, thank you for coming with me. I think I would have been scared if I were alone," said Rei. Kou answered gently.

「友達ともだちだから、当あたり前まえだよ。レイ、空そらからぼくのこと、時々ときどき見みてね。ぼくも、レイのことを見みているから」"That's what friends are for. Rei, please look down at me from the sky sometimes. I'll be watching you too."

ふたりは、虹にじの橋はしを一緒いっしょに上うえり始はじめました。橋はしを上うえるたびに、空そらがどんどん近ちかくなっていきます。まわりには、ほかの星ほしたちが優やさしく光ひかっていました。Together, they began to climb the rainbow bridge. With each step, the sky came closer and closer. Around them, other stars were shining softly.

虹にじの頂上てっぺんにつくと、レイは自分じぶんの居場所いばしょが見みえました。仲間なかまの星ほしたちが、レイを待まっていました。「おかえり、レイ」星ほしたちが呼よびかけます。At the top of the rainbow, Rei could see home. The other stars were waiting for Rei. "Welcome back, Rei," the stars called out.

「コウ、また会あえるかな」レイが聞きくと、コウはうなずきました。「うん、夢ゆめの世界せかいでまた会あおう。おやすみを言いうとき、思おもい出してね」"Kou, will we meet again?" Rei asked. Kou nodded. "Yes, let's meet again in the dream world. Remember me when you say goodnight."

レイは、コウにさよならを告つげて、仲間なかまの星ほしたちのところへ帰かえっていきました。そして、いつもの場所ばしょで、きらきらと光ひかり始はじめました。Rei said goodbye to Kou and returned to the other stars. Then, in the usual spot, Rei began to twinkle brightly once more.

地上ちじょうでは、子供こどもたちが眠ねむりにつく時間じかんです。レイは、空そらから優やさしく光ひかりながら、みんなのことを見守みまもっています。Down below, it was time for children to go to sleep. Rei watched over everyone, shining gently from the sky.

今日きょうも、たくさん遊あそんで、たくさん笑わらったね。明日あしたもきっと、素敵すてきな一日いちにちが待まっているよ。レイとコウのように、夢ゆめの中なかで、不思議ふしぎな冒険ぼうけんができるかもしれないね。Today, you played a lot and laughed a lot. Tomorrow will surely be another wonderful day. Maybe, like Rei and Kou, you can have a magical adventure in your dreams too.

目めを閉とじて、ゆっくり息いきをすって。ふかふかのお布団ふとんに包つつまれて、安やすらかな夜よるを過ごしてね。空そらの上うえから、レイがきみのことを見守みまもっているよ。おやすみ。Close your eyes and take a slow, deep breath. Wrapped up in your cozy blanket, have a peaceful night. From up in the sky, Rei is watching over you. Goodnight.
