ひまりと ほしのくにへの たびHimari and the Journey to the Star Kingdom

ひまりはベッドに入はいっても、なかなか眠ねむれませんでした。窓の外そとには、大おおきな星ほしがひとつ、静しずかに光ひかっています。Himari got into bed, but she could not fall asleep. Outside her window, one big star was shining quietly.

ひまりがそっと目めを閉とじると、体からだがふわりと軽かるくなりました。気きがつくと、星ほしの光ひかでできた道みちの上うえに立たっていました。When Himari gently closed her eyes, her body felt light and floaty. Before she knew it, she was standing on a path made of starlight.

「こんばんは」どこからか声こえがしました。振ふり向むくと、小ちいさな鳥とりが羽はねを光ひからせて飛とんでいます。名前なまえを聞きくと、鳥とりは「つぐみです」と答こたえました。"Good evening," said a voice from somewhere. She turned around and saw a small bird flying with glowing wings. When she asked its name, the bird answered, "I'm Tsugumi."

つぐみは「星ほしの国くにへ行いく道みちを案内あんないします」と言いいました。ひまりはうれしくなって、光ひかる道みちを歩き始はじめました。Tsugumi said, "I will guide you to the Star Kingdom." Himari felt happy and began walking along the glowing path.

しばらく歩くと、川かわが流ながれていて、その先さきに橋はしがかかっていました。でも、橋はしの真ん中まんなかの板いたが一枚いちまい、なくなっています。渡わたれるでしょうか?After walking for a while, she came to a river with a bridge across it. But one plank was missing from the middle of the bridge. Could she cross it?

ひまりは怖こわくなって、足あしが止とまりました。でも、つぐみが「あなたの心こころの中なかにも、小ちいさな光ひかがありますよ」と言いいました。Himari felt scared, and her feet stopped moving. But Tsugumi said, "There is a small light inside your heart too."

ひまりは胸むねに手てを当あてて、そっと目めを閉とじました。すると、手てのひらに、あたたかい光ひかの粒つぶが浮うかびました。ひまりはそれを橋はしの穴あなにそっと置おきました。光ひかの粒つぶは板いたになって、橋はしがつながりました。Himari placed her hand on her chest and gently closed her eyes. A warm bead of light appeared in her palm. She quietly placed it into the gap in the bridge. The bead of light became a plank, and the bridge was whole again.

ひまりは深ふかく息いきを吸すって、一歩いっぽずつ橋はしを渡わたりました。渡わたり終おえると、つぐみが「よくがんばりましたね」と言いって、ひまりの肩かたにとまりました。Himari took a deep breath and crossed the bridge one step at a time. When she finished crossing, Tsugumi said, "You did very well," and landed on her shoulder.

橋はしの向こうむこうには、星ほしの国くにが広ひろがっていました。優やさしい光ひかに包つつまれて、ひまりの心こころはとても温あたたかくなりました。Beyond the bridge, the Star Kingdom spread out before her. Wrapped in gentle light, Himari's heart felt very warm.

気きがつくと、ひまりは自分じぶんのベッドの中なかにいました。窓の外そとの星ほしは、さっきよりも優やさしく光ひかっています。ひまりはそっと目めを閉とじました。おやすみ。Before she knew it, Himari was back in her own bed. The star outside her window was shining even more gently than before. Himari softly closed her eyes. Good night.
