みのりと ほしの かけらの はしMinori and the Bridge of Star Pieces

みのりは、ふとんに入はいっても、なかなか眠ねむれませんでした。窓まどの外そとでは、大おおきな星ほしがひとつ、静しずかに光ひかっています。Minori lay in bed, but could not fall asleep. Outside the window, one big star was shining quietly.

みのりがそっと目めを閉とじると、体からだがふわりと軽かるくなりました。気きづくと、星ほしの光ひかでできた坂道さかみちの上うえに立たっていました。When Minori gently closed her eyes, her body became light and floaty. Before she knew it, she was standing on a path made of starlight.

「こんばんは」どこからか声こえがしました。振ふり向むくと、白しろいマントを着きた人ひとが立たっています。「わたしは、つきひ。星ほしの番人ばんにんです」"Good evening," said a voice from somewhere. She turned around and saw someone wearing a white cloak. "I am Tsukihi, the keeper of the stars."

つきひは「今夜こんや、空そらから星ほしのかけらが、いくつか落おちてしまいました。いっしょに探さがしに行いきませんか」と言いいました。みのりはうなずいて、光ひかる坂道さかみちを歩あるき始はじめました。Tsukihi said, "Tonight, some pieces of stars fell from the sky. Would you like to come and look for them with me?" Minori nodded and began walking down the glowing path.

しばらく歩あるくと、雲くもでできた橋はしがありました。でも、橋はしの真ん中まんなかが大おおきく欠かけていて、下したは何なにも見みえません。渡わたれるでしょうか？After walking a while, they came to a bridge made of clouds. But right in the middle of the bridge, a piece was missing, and below there was nothing to see. Could she cross it?

みのりは怖こわくなって、足あしが止とまりました。でも、つきひが「あなたの心こころの中なかにも、小ちいさな光ひかがありますよ」と言いいました。Minori felt scared, and her feet stopped moving. But Tsukihi said, "There is a small light inside your heart too."

みのりは胸むねに手てを当あてて、そっと目めを閉とじました。すると、手てのひらに、あたたかな光ひかの粒つぶが浮うかびました。みのりはそれを橋はしの穴あなに、そっと置おきました。光ひかの粒つぶは板いたになって、橋はしがつながりました。Minori placed her hand on her chest and gently closed her eyes. Then a warm ball of light appeared in her palm. She placed it softly into the gap in the bridge. The light turned into a plank, and the bridge became whole again.

みのりは深ふかく息いきを吸すって、一歩いっぽずつ橋はしを渡わたりました。渡わたり終おえると、つきひが「よくがんばりましたね」と言いって、みのりの肩かたにとまりました。Minori took a deep breath and crossed the bridge, one step at a time. When she finished crossing, Tsukihi said, "You did very well," and landed gently on her shoulder.

橋はしの向むこうには、光ひかる星ほしのかけらが集あつまっていました。ふたりでそれを空そらに投なげると、かけらはひとつの星ほしになって、夜空よぞらにもどっていきました。On the other side of the bridge, shining star pieces were gathered together. The two of them threw the pieces up into the sky, and they became one star again, returning to the night sky.

気きづくと、みのりは自分じぶんのベッドの中なかにいました。窓まどの外そとの星ほしは、さっきよりも優やさしく光ひかっています。みのりはそっと目めを閉とじました。おやすみ。Before she knew it, Minori was back in her own bed. The star outside the window was shining even more gently than before. Minori softly closed her eyes. Good night.
