つむぎと ほしの まいごTsumugi and the Lost Star

つむぎは、ふとんの中なかで目めをとじると、いつのまにかゆめの中なかに入はいっていました。まどの外そとを見みると、夜空よぞらにひかる星ほしが、ひとつだけ見当たりみあたりません。Tsumugi closed her eyes in bed, and before she knew it, she had slipped into a dream. Looking out the window, she noticed that one star was missing from the night sky.

「どうしたのかな？」つむぎがつぶやくと、目めの前まえに小ちいさな光ひかりがまいおりてきました。それは、かなでという名なの、ひかる鳥とりでした。「星ほしが森もりにおちて、まいごになっているの。いっしょにさがしに行いこう」"What happened?" Tsumugi murmured, and a small light fluttered down in front of her. It was a glowing bird named Kanade. "A star fell into the forest and got lost. Let's go look for it together."

つむぎとかなでは、雲くもでできた森もりの中なかを歩あるきはじめました。木々きぎの間あいだから、やわらかな光ひかりがこぼれています。しばらく行いくと、目めの前まえに、ひかる川かわがながれていました。川かわははやく、わたるはしも見当たりみあたりません。Tsumugi and Kanade began walking through a forest made of clouds. Soft light spilled between the trees. After a while, a glowing river appeared before them. The current was fast, and there was no bridge to cross.

「わたし、わたれるかな？」つむぎの足あしが、少すこしふるえました。かなでは、つむぎの手てのそばに来きて、そっと光ひかりをさしだしました。「だいじょうぶ。わたしの光ひかりを見みながら、一歩いっぽずつすすんで」つむぎは、ふかくいきをすうと、光ひかりを見みつめながら、ゆっくりと川かわをわたりました。"Can I really cross this?" Tsumugi's legs trembled a little. Kanade came close and gently held out her light. "It's okay. Just follow my light and take it one step at a time." Tsumugi took a deep breath, kept her eyes on the light, and slowly crossed the river.

川かわをわたった先さきには、小ちいさな星ほしが、木きのねもとで丸まるくなっていました。「さむかったね、もうへいきだよ」つむぎがそっと手てをのばすと、星ほしはほんのりあたたかくなり、つむぎの手てのひらでやさしくひかりました。On the other side, a tiny star was curled up at the foot of a tree. "You must have been cold, but you're safe now," Tsumugi said, reaching out her hand. The star warmed gently and glowed softly in her palm.

つむぎとかなでは、星ほしを空そらまでおくりとどけました。星ほしがもとのばしょにもどると、夜空よぞらは、またうつくしくかがやきはじめました。「ありがとう、つむぎ」かなでの声こえが、遠とおくから聞きこえました。Tsumugi and Kanade carried the star all the way back up to the sky. When it returned to its place, the night sky began to sparkle beautifully again. "Thank you, Tsumugi," Kanade's voice called out from far away.

気きがつくと、つむぎは、自分じぶんのふとんの中なかにいました。まどの外そとの夜空よぞらには、星ほしがひとつのこらずかがやいています。つむぎは、そっと目めをとじました。おやすみ。When Tsumugi opened her eyes, she was back in her own bed. Outside the window, every single star was shining in the night sky. Tsumugi gently closed her eyes. Good night.
