くものうえのはたけThe Garden Above the Clouds

お空そらの上うえ、雲くもの階段かいだんを登のぼったところに、「風かぜの通り道とおりみち」という不思議ふしぎな場所ばしょがあります。High up in the sky, at the top of the cloud staircase, there is a magical place called "Wind's Path."

そこには、雲くもを紡つむぐ小ちいさな精霊せいれいたちが住すんでいました。There, small spirits who weave clouds lived together.

フワちゃんは、雲くもを紡つむぐのが得意とくいな綿毛わたげの精霊せいれいです。毎日まいにち、ふわふわの雲くもを作つくって、お空そらに浮うかべるのがお仕事しごとでした。Fuwa was a fluffy seed spirit who was very good at weaving clouds. Every day, her job was to make soft, fluffy clouds and float them in the sky.

ある朝あさ、フワちゃんがいつものように雲くもを紡つむいでいると、風かぜに乗のってきらきら光ひかる種たねが飛とんできました。One morning, while Fuwa was weaving clouds as usual, a sparkling seed came flying on the wind.

「わあ、なんてきれいな種たねだろう」"Wow, what a beautiful seed!"

フワちゃんはそっと種たねを両手りょうてで受け止うけとめました。種たねは虹色にじいろに輝かがやいて、温あたたかい光ひかを放はなっていました。Fuwa gently caught the seed in both hands. The seed was glowing in rainbow colors and giving off warm light.

「この種たね、どこから来きたのかな？」"I wonder where this seed came from?"

フワちゃんが不思議ふしぎに思おもっていると、風かぜの精霊せいれいのソヨくんがやって来きました。While Fuwa was wondering about this, a wind spirit named Soyo came by.

「それは、星ほしの花はなの種たねだよ。夜空よぞらに咲さく、特別とくべつな花はななんだ」"That is a star flower seed. It's a special flower that blooms in the night sky."

ソヨくんは優やさしく教おしえてくれました。Soyo explained gently.

「星ほしの花はな？　どうやって育そだてるの？」"A star flower? How do you grow it?"

「この種たねは、月つきの光ひかと夢ゆめの雫しずくがあれば咲さくんだ。でも、育そだてる場所ばしょが必要ひつようなんだよ」"This seed will bloom if it has moonlight and dream drops. But it needs a place to grow."

フワちゃんは考かんがえました。Fuwa thought about it.

「私わたしの雲くもの畑はたけで育そだてられるかな？」"Could I grow it in my cloud garden?"

「雲くもの畑はたけ？　それはいい考かんがえだね！」"Cloud garden? That's a great idea!"

ソヨくんは嬉うれしそうに言いいました。Soyo said happily.

二人ふたりは、フワちゃんが毎日まいにち雲くもを紡つむいでいる場所ばしょへ向むかいました。そこには、ふわふわの雲くもがいくつも浮ういていて、まるで白しろい畑はたけのようでした。The two headed to the place where Fuwa weaved clouds every day. There, many fluffy clouds were floating, looking just like a white garden.

「ここなら、月つきの光ひかもたっぷり届とどくね」"Here, the moonlight can reach it well."

フワちゃんは、一番いちばん柔やわらかい雲くもの真ん中まんなかに、種たねをそっと埋うめました。Fuwa gently planted the seed in the softest cloud's center.

「後あとは夢ゆめの雫しずくが必要ひつようなんだ」"Now we just need dream drops."

ソヨくんが言いいました。Soyo said.

「夢ゆめの雫しずく？　どこにあるの？」"Dream drops? Where are they?"

「夜よるになったら、眠ねむっている子供こどもたちのところから飛とんで来きるんだよ。いい夢ゆめを見みている子この枕元まくらもとから、きらきら光ひかる雫しずくが生うまれるんだ」"When night comes, they fly up from sleeping children. Sparkling drops are born from the pillows of children having good dreams."

フワちゃんはそれを聞きいて、わくわくしました。Fuwa felt very excited hearing this.

やがて日ひが沈しずみ、夜空よぞらにはたくさんの星ほしが輝かがやき始はじめました。まん丸まるのお月つき様さまも、優やさしい光ひかで雲くもの畑はたけを照てらしています。Soon the sun set, and many stars began to twinkle in the night sky. The round moon also shone its gentle light on the cloud garden.

すると、地上ちじょうから小ちいさな光ひかの粒々つぶつぶがふわふわと昇のぼって来きました。Then, small sparkling lights began floating up from the ground.

「あれが夢ゆめの雫しずくだよ」"Those are the dream drops."

ソヨくんがささやきました。Soyo whispered.

光ひかの粒つぶたちは、まるで蛍ほたるのようにきらきら光ひかりながら、雲くもの畑はたけに集あつまって来きます。The sparkles of light gathered in the cloud garden, twinkling like fireflies.

「きっと、今頃いまごろ地上ちじょうでは、たくさんの子供こどもたちがいい夢ゆめを見みているんだね」"Right now, many children on the ground must be having good dreams."

フワちゃんは幸しあわせな気持きもちになりました。Fuwa felt very happy.

夢ゆめの雫しずくが種たねに降り注ふりそそぐと、種たねが温あたたかく光ひかり始はじめました。そして、ゆっくりと芽めが出でて、細ほそい茎くきが伸のびていきます。When the dream drops sprinkled onto the seed, it began to glow warmly. Then slowly, a sprout appeared and a thin stem began to grow.

「わあ、育そだってる！」"Wow, it's growing!"

フワちゃんは目めを輝かがやかせました。Fuwa's eyes sparkled with joy.

茎くきの先さきには、小ちいさなつぼみが付つきました。つぼみは少すこしずつ開ひらいて、星ほしの形かたちをした花はなびらが現あらわれました。A small bud appeared at the tip of the stem. The bud slowly opened, revealing petals shaped like stars.

花はなびらは虹色にじいろに光ひかり、まるで本物ほんものの星ほしのようにきらきら輝かがやいています。The petals glowed in rainbow colors, sparkling just like real stars.

「きれい……」"It's beautiful..."

フワちゃんはうっとりと花はなを見みつめました。Fuwa gazed at the flower dreamily.

その時とき、花はなから小ちいさな声こえが聞きこえました。Just then, a small voice came from the flower.

「ありがとう、育そだててくれて」"Thank you for helping me grow."

花はなの中なかから、小ちいさな小ちいさな精霊せいれいが顔かおを出でしました。星ほしの光ひかをまとった、可愛かわいい子こでした。From inside the flower, a tiny, tiny spirit peeked out. It was an adorable little one dressed in starlight.

「私わたしはホシちゃん。あなたのおかげで、生うまれることができたの」"I'm Hoshi. Thanks to you, I was able to be born."

ホシちゃんはにっこり笑わらいました。Hoshi smiled brightly.

「ホシちゃん！　初はじめまして。私わたしはフワちゃん。これからもここにいてね」"Hoshi! Nice to meet you. I'm Fuwa. Please stay here always."

フワちゃんとホシちゃんは、すぐに仲良なかよしになりました。Fuwa and Hoshi quickly became best friends.

それから毎晩まいばん、ホシちゃんはフワちゃんと一緒いっしょに雲くもの畑はたけから夜空よぞらを眺ながめます。From then on, every night Hoshi and Fuwa would look at the night sky together from the cloud garden.

地上ちじょうの子供こどもたちが眠ねむる頃ころ、ホシちゃんは優やさしい光ひかを送おくります。その光ひかは、みんなに素敵すてきな夢ゆめを届とどけるのです。When the children on the ground fell asleep, Hoshi would send out gentle light. That light would bring everyone wonderful dreams.

「今日きょうもたくさんの子こが、いい夢ゆめを見みますように」"May all the children have good dreams tonight too."

フワちゃんはそっとお祈いのりしました。Fuwa made a quiet wish.

月つきの光ひかに照てらされて、雲くもの畑はたけは金色きんいろに輝かがやいています。星ほしの花はなもきらきらと揺ゆれています。Bathed in moonlight, the cloud garden glowed golden. The star flower swayed and sparkled too.

「フワちゃん、私わたしたちもそろそろ眠ねむろうか」"Fuwa, shall we go to sleep soon too?"

ホシちゃんがあくびをしながら言いいました。Hoshi said with a yawn.

「そうだね。明日あしたもたくさん雲くもを紡つむぐんだ」"Yes, let's. I have lots of clouds to weave tomorrow."

二人ふたりはふわふわの雲くもの上うえで、寄り添よりそってお目め々を閉とじました。The two snuggled close on the fluffy cloud and closed their eyes.

夜空よぞらの星ほしたちが、優やさしい子守唄こもりうたを歌うたっています。The stars in the night sky sang a gentle lullaby.

風かぜがそよそよと吹ふいて、夢ゆめの国くにへと誘いざなってくれます。The wind blew softly, leading them to the land of dreams.

あなたもそっとお目め々を閉とじて、雲くもの上うえの世界せかいへ出でかけてみませんか。Won't you close your eyes too and visit the world above the clouds?

星ほしの光ひかが、素敵すてきな夢ゆめへと連つれて行いってくれますよ。The starlight will take you to wonderful dreams.
