ゆきのけっしょうのなかのおしろThe Castle Inside the Snowflake

夜よるの空そらから、きらきら光ひかる雪ゆきがふりはじめました。その中なかに、ほかの雪ゆきよりもっと輝かがやく結晶けっしょうがひとつありました。From the night sky, sparkling snow began to fall. Among them, there was one crystal that shone brighter than all the others.

その結晶けっしょうの中なかには、透明とうめいな氷こおりでできた小ちいさなお城しろがありました。お城しろのまわりには、銀色ぎんいろのきらきらした光ひかがただよっています。Inside that crystal was a tiny castle made of clear ice. Around the castle, silvery sparkles of light floated gently.

お城しろに住すんでいるのは、光ひかでできた女おんなの子こ、ルナでした。ルナは毎晩まいばん、お星ほしさまのかけらを集あつめて、雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうをもっときれいに飾かざるお仕事しごとをしています。Living in the castle was a little girl made of light named Luna. Every night, Luna collected pieces of stars to decorate the snow crystal and make it even more beautiful.

ある夜よる、ルナがいつものように星ほしのかけらを探さがしていると、お城しろの庭にわにふしぎな生いき物ものがやってきました。氷こおりでできた小ちいさなうさぎです。One night, while Luna was searching for star pieces as usual, a mysterious creature came to the castle garden. It was a small rabbit made of ice.

そのうさぎは、全身ぜんしんが透明とうめいで、中なかに小ちいさな青あおい光ひかがゆらゆらとゆれていました。うさぎはルナを見みると、小ちいさな声こえで言いいました。The rabbit was completely transparent, with a small blue light swaying gently inside. When the rabbit saw Luna, it spoke in a tiny voice.

「こんばんは。わたしの名前なまえはシズクといいます。水みずのしずくから生いまれたの。迷子まいごになってしまったの」"Good evening. My name is Shizuku. I was born from a water droplet. I got lost."

ルナはやさしくほほえんで、シズクの頭あたまをなでました。「大丈夫だいじょうぶよ。わたしがおうちを探さがすのを手伝てつだってあげる」Luna smiled kindly and patted Shizuku's head. "Don't worry. I'll help you find your way home."

ふたりはいっしょに、雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうの中なかを歩あるきはじめました。氷こおりの花畑はなばたけを通とおりすぎると、きらきらしたつららの森もりにつきました。The two of them began walking through the snow crystal together. After passing through a field of ice flowers, they arrived at a sparkling forest of icicles.

つららの森もりには、光ひかるちょうちょがたくさん飛とんでいました。ちょうちょたちは、ルナとシズクのまわりをくるくるとまわって、道案内みちあんないをしてくれました。In the icicle forest, many glowing butterflies were flying about. The butterflies circled around Luna and Shizuku, guiding them along the way.

森もりを抜ぬけると、大おおきな氷こおりの池いけがありました。池いけの水みずは、お月つきさまの光ひかを受うけて銀色ぎんいろに輝かがやいています。When they came out of the forest, there was a big frozen pond. The water of the pond sparkled silver in the moonlight.

シズクは池いけを見みて、うれしそうにぴょんとはねました。「ここ、わたしのおうちだわ。水みずのしずくは、この池いけから生いまれるの」Shizuku looked at the pond and hopped with joy. "This is my home! Water droplets are born from this pond."

池いけのほとりには、シズクのお友ともだちのしずくうさぎたちがたくさんいました。みんなシズクが帰かえってきたのを見みて、うれしそうにとびはねています。By the pond, there were many droplet rabbits who were Shizuku's friends. They all hopped happily when they saw Shizuku had returned.

シズクはルナの手てをぎゅっとにぎりました。「ありがとう、ルナ。おかげでおうちに帰かえれたよ。お礼れいに、特別とくべつなものをあげるね」Shizuku held Luna's hand tightly. "Thank you, Luna. Thanks to you, I made it home. Let me give you something special."

シズクは、自分じぶんの体からだの中なかにある青あおい光ひかを少すこしだけルナにわたしました。その光ひかは、ルナの手ての中なかで雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうの形かたちになりました。Shizuku gave Luna a little bit of the blue light from inside her body. The light turned into the shape of a snow crystal in Luna's hands.

「これは、夢ゆめの雪ゆき。枕まくらの下したにおくと、きれいな夢ゆめが見みられるの」"This is dream snow. If you put it under your pillow, you'll have beautiful dreams."

ルナは宝物たからものの雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうを大事だいじにもって、お城しろに帰かえりました。今夜こんやはとてもすてきな冒険ぼうけんでした。Luna carefully held her treasure, the snow crystal, and returned to the castle. It had been a wonderful adventure tonight.

ルナはベッドに入はいって、結晶けっしょうを枕まくらの下したにおきました。「シズク、また遊あそぼうね」そうつぶやいて、目めを閉とじました。Luna got into bed and placed the crystal under her pillow. "Let's play again, Shizuku," she whispered, and closed her eyes.

雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうのお城しろは、静しずかな夜よるの光ひかにつつまれて、きらきらと輝かがやいています。外そとでは、しんしんと雪ゆきがふり続つづけています。The castle inside the snow crystal was wrapped in the quiet light of night, sparkling softly. Outside, the snow kept falling gently.

あなたも、あたたかいおふとんにくるまって、目めを閉とじてね。きっとルナやシズクが遊あそびにきてくれるよ。Now you snuggle up in your warm blanket and close your eyes too. Luna and Shizuku will surely come to play in your dreams.
