ほしのこレイとゆきのおしろRay the Star Child and the Snow Castle

夜よるの空そらには、小ちいさな光ひかりの子こどもが住すんでいました。名前なまえはレイ。レイは、毎晩まいばん空そらから落おちてくる星ほしのかけらを集あつめるお仕事しごとをしていました。In the night sky, there lived a small child of light. His name was Ray. Every night, Ray's job was to collect the fragments of stars that fell from the sky.

ある冬ふゆの夜よる、レイがいつものように空そらを飛とんでいると、きらきら光ひかりる雪ゆきがふってきました。「わあ、きれいな雪ゆきだなあ」レイは雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうを手てのひらにのせて、じっと見みつめました。One winter night, as Ray was flying through the sky as usual, sparkling snow began to fall. "Wow, what beautiful snow!" Ray placed a snow crystal on his palm and gazed at it closely.

すると、不思議ふしぎなことが起おきました。雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうの中なかに、小ちいさなお城しろが見みえたのです。「えっ、お城しろがある？」レイは驚おどろいて、もっと近ちかづいてみました。Then, something magical happened. Inside the snow crystal, he could see a tiny castle! "Wait, there's a castle in here?" Ray was so surprised that he looked even closer.

お城しろは氷こおりでできていて、月つきの光ひかりをあびて虹色にじいろに輝かがやいていました。レイがそっと結晶けっしょうの中なかに入はいっていくと、お城しろの前まえには小ちいさな庭にわがありました。The castle was made of ice, and it shimmered in rainbow colors under the moonlight. When Ray gently entered the crystal, he found a small garden in front of the castle.

庭にわには、氷こおりの花はなや雪ゆきの木きが咲さいていて、まるで夢ゆめの中なかみたいでした。お城しろの扉とびらの前まえに、白しろいドレスを着きた女おんなの子こが立たっていました。In the garden, ice flowers and snow trees were blooming. It was just like being inside a dream. In front of the castle door stood a girl wearing a white dress.

「こんばんは。私わたしは雪ゆきの精霊せいれいのユキ。あなたは誰だれ？」女おんなの子こは優やさしくほほえみました。"Good evening. I am Yuki, the snow spirit. Who are you?" The girl smiled gently.

「ぼくはレイ。空そらで星ほしを集あつめているんだ。君きみのお城しろ、すごくきれいだね」レイが言いうと、ユキは少すこし悲かなしそうな顔かおをしました。"I'm Ray. I collect stars in the sky. Your castle is really beautiful," Ray said. Yuki's face became a little sad.

「ありがとう。でもね、このお城しろには私わたし一人ひとりしかいないの。ずっとずっと、友達ともだちがほしいなって思おもっていたの」ユキはそう言いって、うつむきました。"Thank you. But you see, I'm the only one in this castle. I've been wishing for a friend for such a long time," Yuki said, looking down.

レイはユキの手てを優やさしくにぎりました。「じゃあ、ぼくが君きみの友達ともだちになるよ。ほら、見みて」レイが手てのひらを開ひらくと、金色きんいろに光ひかりる星ほしのかけらが現あらわれました。Ray gently held Yuki's hand. "Then I'll be your friend. Look at this." When Ray opened his palm, a golden star fragment appeared.

「わあ、きれい！」ユキの目めがきらきら輝かがやきました。レイはその星ほしのかけらを、お城しろの一番いちばん高たかい塔とうにそっと置おきました。"Oh, how beautiful!" Yuki's eyes sparkled with joy. Ray carefully placed the star fragment on the highest tower of the castle.

すると、お城しろ全体ぜんたいがあたたかい光ひかりに包つつまれました。氷こおりの花はなたちも、優やさしく光ひかりり始はじめました。「まるで、星ほしのお城しろみたい」ユキがうれしそうに笑わらいました。Suddenly, the entire castle was wrapped in warm light. The ice flowers began to glow softly too. "It's like a castle of stars," Yuki said happily.

「お礼れいに、私わたしの魔法まほうを見みせてあげる」ユキはくるくると回まわり始はじめました。すると、小ちいさな雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうが舞まい上あがり、きらきらと踊おどり始はじめたのです。"Let me show you my magic as a thank you," Yuki began to spin around. Tiny snow crystals rose into the air and started dancing and sparkling.

レイとユキは、手てをつないで雪ゆきの中なかを踊おどりました。光ひかりと雪ゆきが混まざり合あって、空そらには美うつくしい虹にじがかかりました。Ray and Yuki held hands and danced in the snow together. Light and snow blended together, and a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky.

「ああ、楽たのしかった」二人ふたりは庭にわのベンチに座すわって、虹にじを見み上あげました。「レイ、また遊あそびに来きてくれる？」ユキが聞きくと、レイはにっこりとうなずきました。"Oh, that was so much fun," they both said, sitting on a bench in the garden and looking up at the rainbow. "Ray, will you come play with me again?" Yuki asked, and Ray nodded with a big smile.

「もちろん。雪ゆきがふる夜よるには、必かならず会あいに来きるよ。約束やくそくだよ」レイは小指こゆびをさしだしました。ユキも小指こゆびをからめて、二人ふたりは指切ゆびきりをしました。"Of course. Whenever it snows at night, I'll definitely come to see you. I promise." Ray held out his little finger. Yuki linked her little finger with his, and they made a pinky promise.

「じゃあ、またね、ユキ」「またね、レイ。今日きょうは本当ほんとうにありがとう」二人ふたりは手てをふって、お別わかれしました。"See you again, Yuki." "See you, Ray. Thank you so much for today." They waved goodbye to each other.

レイは雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうから空そらへ飛び立とびたちました。見み上あげると、お城しろは星ほしの光ひかりで優やさしく輝かがやいていました。「ユキ、おやすみ」レイはそっとつぶやきました。Ray flew up from the snow crystal into the sky. Looking back, the castle was glowing gently with starlight. "Good night, Yuki," Ray whispered softly.

雪ゆきの結晶けっしょうの中なかで、ユキも窓まどから空そらを見み上あげていました。「レイ、おやすみ」二人ふたりの声こえが、静しずかな冬ふゆの夜よるに響ひびきました。Inside the snow crystal, Yuki was also looking up at the sky from her window. "Good night, Ray." Their voices echoed through the quiet winter night.
