ひかりのこアカリと こおりのおしろAkari the Light Child and the Ice Castle

夜空よぞらには、きらきら光ひかる 星ほしが たくさん 輝かがやいていました。その中なかに、小ちいさな 光ひかの子こが 住すんでいました。名前なまえは アカリ。毎晩まいばん、夜空よぞらの 星ほしを 集あつめて、みんなの 夢ゆめに 届とどける お仕事しごとを していました。In the night sky, many stars were shining brightly. Among them lived a small child of light. Her name was Akari. Every night, she collected stars from the sky and delivered them to everyone's dreams.

ある冬ふゆの 夜よる、アカリは 不思議ふしぎな 光ひかを 見みつけました。それは、いつもの 星ほしの 光ひかとは 違ちがって、冷つめたくて きれいな 青あおい 光ひかでした。「あれは 何なにだろう？」アカリは、その 光ひかを 追おいかけて、遠とおくまで 飛とんでいきました。One winter night, Akari found a mysterious light. It was different from the usual starlight—cold and beautiful, glowing blue. "What could that be?" Akari flew far away, chasing after the light.

光ひかの 先さきには、大おおきな 雪ゆきの 結晶けっしょうが ありました。結晶けっしょうの 中なかには、きらきら 光ひかる 氷こおりの お城しろが 建たっていました。アカリは そっと、お城しろの 中なかに 入はいっていきました。At the end of the light, there was a large snowflake crystal. Inside the crystal stood a sparkling ice castle. Akari quietly went inside the castle.

お城しろの 中なかは、まるで 夢ゆめの 世界せかいの ようでした。天井てんじょうには、氷こおりの シャンデリアが ゆらゆら 揺ゆれていました。壁かべには、雪ゆきの 結晶けっしょうが 飾かざられていて、アカリの 光ひかを 映うつして、虹色にじいろに 輝かがやいていました。Inside the castle was like a dream world. Ice chandeliers swayed gently from the ceiling. Snow crystals decorated the walls, reflecting Akari's light and shining in rainbow colors.

「こんばんは、光ひかの子こさん」突然とつぜん、優やさしい 声こえが 聞きこえました。振ふり返かえると、雪ゆきの 妖精ようせいが 立たっていました。髪かみの毛けは 白しろくて 長ながくて、目めは 空色そらいろでした。「私わたしは リン。この 氷こおりの お城しろに 住すんでいるの」"Good evening, little light child," a gentle voice suddenly said. When Akari turned around, a snow fairy was standing there. Her hair was white and long, and her eyes were sky blue. "I am Rin. I live in this ice castle."

アカリは 嬉うれしくなって、にっこり 笑わらいました。「私わたしは アカリ。きれいな 光ひかを 追おいかけて 来きたの。リンの お城しろ、とっても 素敵すてきだね」Akari became happy and smiled brightly. "I am Akari. I came here chasing a beautiful light. Your castle is so wonderful, Rin!"

リンは 照てれくさそうに 笑わらいました。「ありがとう。でも、実じつは 困こまっていることが あるの。冬ふゆの 夜空よぞらに 飾かざる 特別とくべつな 星ほしを 探さがしているのだけど、見みつからなくて」Rin smiled shyly. "Thank you. But actually, I have a problem. I am looking for a special star to decorate the winter night sky, but I cannot find it."

「特別とくべつな 星ほし？」アカリは 不思議ふしぎに 思おもいました。"A special star?" Akari wondered curiously.

「うん。冬ふゆの 夜よるは 長ながいから、みんなが 温あたたかい 夢ゆめを 見みられるように、優やさしく 光ひかる 星ほしが 必要ひつようなの。でも、その 星ほしは お城しろの 一番いちばん 高たかい 塔とうに あるって 聞きいたの」"Yes. Winter nights are long, so we need a gently glowing star so everyone can have warm dreams. I heard that star is in the highest tower of this castle."

アカリは 元気げんきよく 言いいました。「一緒いっしょに 探さがしに 行いこうよ。私わたし、星ほしを 集あつめるの、得意とくいなんだ」Akari said cheerfully, "Let's go find it together! I am very good at collecting stars."

リンは 嬉うれしそうに うなずきました。二人ふたりは 手てを つないで、お城しろの 中なかを 歩あるきはじめました。氷こおりの 階段かいだんを 登のぼり、長ながい 廊下ろうかを 通とおり、いくつもの 部屋へやを 通とおり抜ぬけました。Rin nodded happily. The two held hands and began walking through the castle. They climbed ice stairs, walked through long hallways, and passed through many rooms.

途中とちゅうで、氷こおりの 蝶々ちょうちょが 舞まい降おりてきて、二人ふたりを 案内あんないしてくれました。蝶々ちょうちょは 羽はねを ひらひら させながら、高たかい 塔とうへの 道みちを 教おしえてくれました。Along the way, ice butterflies fluttered down and guided them. The butterflies showed them the way to the tall tower while flapping their wings.

やっと、一番いちばん 高たかい 塔とうに 着つきました。そこには、大おおきな 氷こおりの 花はなが 咲さいていました。花はなの 真まん中なかには、優やさしく 光ひかる 金色きんいろの 星ほしが 眠ねむっていました。Finally, they reached the highest tower. There, a large ice flower was blooming. In the center of the flower, a golden star was sleeping, glowing gently.

「きれい」アカリと リンは、思おもわず 声こえを 合あわせて 言いいました。"How beautiful!" Akari and Rin said together at the same time.

アカリは そっと 星ほしに 近ちかづきました。すると、星ほしは 目めを 覚さまして、温あたたかい 光ひかを 放はなちはじめました。「ありがとう、見みつけてくれて。冬ふゆの 夜空よぞらを 温あたためる 準備じゅんびは できているよ」Akari slowly approached the star. Then the star woke up and began to shine with warm light. "Thank you for finding me. I am ready to warm the winter night sky."

リンは 星ほしを 両手りょうてで そっと 持もち上あげました。「さあ、みんなの ところに 届とどけましょう」Rin gently lifted the star with both hands. "Now, let's deliver it to everyone."

二人ふたりと 星ほしは、お城しろの てっぺんから 夜空よぞらへ 飛とび立たちました。金色きんいろの 星ほしは、夜空よぞらの 真まん中なかで ゆっくり 回まわりはじめました。その 光ひかは、ふわふわと 優やさしくて、見みている だけで 温あたたかい 気持きもちに なりました。The two and the star flew up from the top of the castle into the night sky. The golden star began to spin slowly in the middle of the sky. Its light was soft and gentle, making everyone who saw it feel warm inside.

下したの 町まちでは、子どもこどもたちが 窓まどから 夜空よぞらを 見み上あげていました。「きれいな 星ほしだね」「あったかい 色いろだね」みんな 嬉うれしそうに 笑わらっていました。In the town below, children were looking up at the night sky from their windows. "What a beautiful star!" "Such a warm color!" Everyone was smiling happily.

リンは アカリに 言いいました。「アカリの おかげで、冬ふゆの 夜よるも 温あたたかい 夢ゆめが 見みられるね。本当ほんとうに ありがとう」Rin said to Akari, "Thanks to you, everyone can have warm dreams even on winter nights. Thank you so much."

アカリは にっこり 笑わらいました。「こちらこそ、素敵すてきな 冒険ぼうけんを ありがとう。また 遊あそびに 来きるね」Akari smiled brightly. "Thank you too for the wonderful adventure. I will come to play again."

二人ふたりは 約束やくそくの 指切ゆびきりを しました。アカリは いつもの 夜空よぞらに 帰かえっていきました。リンは 氷こおりの お城しろから、手てを 振ふって 見み送おくりました。The two made a pinky promise. Akari returned to her usual place in the night sky. Rin waved goodbye from the ice castle.

金色きんいろの 星ほしは、夜空よぞらで 優やさしく 輝かがやき続つづけました。その 光ひかは、眠ねむる 子どもこどもたちの 枕元まくらもとまで 届とどいて、温あたたかい 夢ゆめを 運はこんでくれました。The golden star kept shining gently in the night sky. Its light reached the pillows of sleeping children, carrying warm dreams to them.
